Hi Ron - Welcome to RDi! There are tutorials in the product you can start with. Click on the Help menu and in there on "Help Contents" - the top of the list on the left should say Rational Developer for i 9.6.0 or some version - in that section, look for "Tutorials" - there are 10 of them, they're worth a try.

Also I have tried the IBM connection strings and could never get them to work. I do NOT want to use ODBC. I know IBM has another connection string but I cannot get it to work.
If anyone has got it to work, please let me know and some example code of how it supposed to look would be great. Trying to find examples on IBM's website is impossible.

I'm an old school SEU programmer and want to get into RDI. I have it and played around with it but is there a good resource anyone has found real helpful? I know there are many "google" sites etc.. I program in .net as well so the interface looks familiar but just want to get the most out of it I can. On that note, any cool things anyone has done with it that is not the "norm"?
