I think you guys are confused. Load the “Eclipse Web Developer Tools 3.25” plug-in from the Marketplace and your Snippets view will be available.

You can also manually export Snippets from 9.6 and import into 9.8. Right-click the Snippets window, choose Customize and the Import/Export function is available for any group of Snippets.

I am currently using Snippets created using 9.6 in my 9.8 RDI version.

Automatic distribution of Snippets is another matter. Never knew it existed, so have no knowledge about the feature.

I agree with you Jason. I use Snippets multiple times per day. If they are
gone, I will not be updating to 9.8 anytime soon.

There are other "features" of RDi that I wonder how they are tested, but
since RDi is so much better than PDM, I just live with it. But there is
definite room for improvement.

I agree with you that it may not have been intentional, (removed from
base Eclipse) but if that is the case then how was it not caught during
testing? Daniel and myself are not the only two people in the world
using Snippets. So, that brings into question how is the Rational team
even testing? Do actual customers get to use the product during it's
beta phase, or do they just wing a ding it?
