Hi Mike,

no problem.

RDi is „installed“ (unzipped) in C:\Users\GrossD\IBM\RDi98

No we are not using secure connections - don’t ask (we’re „only“ the developers not the admins).

The strange thing is, that with the converted workspace (from 9.6.0.12), I can create new connections and they work - if I switch to a new workspace (created with 9.8) and create connections with the same parameters they don’t work.

We’re puzzled.

Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Sorry, I don’t look at emails too often these days 😉
Where do you have 9.8 installed?
Are your hosts connected securely or not? The default for new connections with 9.8 will be secure connections so if you are not using secure connections then maybe change the connection settings?
Mike

Hi Mike,

as a follow-up to the workspace log file.

If we take a workspace from RDi 9.6.0.12 and open this (confirming the warning) we can use the existing connections without a problem.

And now in this workspace - we can even create new connections to our in-house systems, and those new connection do also work without any problem.

If we switch back to a workspace, that was created with 9.8 - the connection don't work.

This behavior as very strange to us. We were trying to find differences in the configurations, but had no real luck so far.

Regards,
Daniel

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [WDSCI-L] RDi 9.8 Remote System Connection Problems
Hi,

we have a Connection Problem with RDi, and we cannot find a solution. Has someone seen anything like that?

https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExZDBiMzMwNDA4MjRiODVhYmQ3YmQ0NmE5YzYwZDU1MjA4ODk4YThlZCZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZzX2dpZklkJmN0PWc/wAA0e0RoZirCzJ1ITy/giphy.gif

In words, whenever we connect to our development server, the connection goes up - and is closed after a few seconds.

It must be a network problem, because from my home network, I can access PUB400 without problems.

Has anyone ever had a similar problem? And maybe a solution?

TIA
Daniel
