Hi Chris,

Thank you very much. But sadly that did not help either.

I added the environment variable as a system variable:

RCL_LOG_CONFIG_NO_LOGS=1

And I tried the path variable RCL_LOG_CONFIG_PATH along with the example configuration file.

RCL_LOG_CONFIG_PATH=c:\IBM\RDi_098\RCL_LOG_Config.txt

File content as given on the Internet page:

Location =
Product =
Version =
Size =
LogLevel =
TraceLevel =
MaxFiles =
EnableLogging = 0
EnableTracing = 0

Neither of them helped.

I do not know what I did wrong. Crazy.

Regards,

Thomas.

I found that setting the environment variable RCL_LOG_CONFIG_NO_LOGS=1 in windows works.

I found this option and another option on the Help page here:

https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/how-do-you-prevent-creation-rcl-log-files-when-using-floating-license-rdz

If you want to try the route to create the config file, then I found a full commented config file here:

Hi All,

Does somebody know how to disable that "RCL_API_Log_Sample_1_0_*_1.xml" log files. I get a new log file in my current directory each time I start RDi.

Creating a configuration file as described on the following page did not help:

https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/rcl-api-log-xml-files-are-being-created-clearcase-hosts__;!!O6xM9Yim9Yk!6-vD49yHKmWVjRvAKTCqgZyGzpdlIMa_HF7-8aYQTwtnXP2DBgfPol4AkokeH9f7YRvPr3zfRvVDXrFfEHwi005m82gBI-w$<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.ibm.com/support/pages/rcl-api-log-xml-files-are-being-created-clearcase-hosts__;!!O6xM9Yim9Yk!6-vD49yHKmWVjRvAKTCqgZyGzpdlIMa_HF7-8aYQTwtnXP2DBgfPol4AkokeH9f7YRvPr3zfRvVDXrFfEHwi005m82gBI-w$>

Location=

Product=

Version=

Size=

LogLevel=

TraceLevel=

MaxFiles=

EnableLogging=0

EnableTracing=0

I tried the following locations without success:

* Current directory (specified in Windows .lnk file)

* c:\IBM\RDi_098 (unzip destination folder)

* c:\IBM\RDi_098\configuration
