Hi Josée,
That is probably an indication that it was run from within the .zip. Right-click on the .zip and select Extract All then run RDI from within the extracted image.
All the best, Mike

Hello, we feel like we followed the instructions on how to download the new version.

We downloaded the file, extracted it in a folder on c drive. It extracted fine.

When we click on rdi.exe we get a message saying ' RDI executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library.'

What are we missing?

Thank you,

IBM Rational Developer for i 9.8 is available now!

For details (enhancements/fixes/issues) on the release, please see the Fix List document: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-list-rational-developer-i<https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-list-rational-developer-i><https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-list-rational-developer-i%3chttps:/www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-list-rational-developer-i%3e>

Please read the readme since this release has a different install process. It is much simpler!

Since it is a new release, there is a new activation kit and it does not 'update' 9.6. You can have both on your machine.

Thanks,
Eric Simpson
