The published instructions are correct and work. Remember that this
installation process is different from other RDi installations.

I downloaded the .ZIP file, (here's the important part) moved it into a
permanent folder (i.e., not some temporary folder or the Downloads folder)
as the instructions said, and unzipped it. RDI.exe shows up in that folder
and that's your executable: point your shortcuts to it and you should be
good.

With many program products, the installation process creates its own
folders in the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folder hierarchy, It
appears that's not the case here. RDi lives where you put it.

Hello, we feel like we followed the instructions on how to download the
new version.

We downloaded the file, extracted it in a folder on c drive. It extracted
fine.

When we click on rdi.exe we get a message saying ' RDI executable launcher
was unable to locate its companion shared library.'

What are we missing?

Thank you,

Subject: [WDSCI-L] IBM Rational Developer for i 9.8 is available!

IBM Rational Developer for i 9.8 is available now!

For details (enhancements/fixes/issues) on the release, please see the Fix
List document:
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-list-rational-developer-i<
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-list-rational-developer-i>

Please read the readme since this release has a different install process.
It is much simpler!

Since it is a new release, there is a new activation kit and it does not
'update' 9.6. You can have both on your machine.

Thanks,
