By “RDI crashes and becomes unresponsive” do you mean that RDI is just not responding to the GUI because it is waiting for a response from the host? If RDI does indeed crash there should be a Java dialog with some info and a reason code.

I would suggest updating to 9.6.0.12 then expand your IBM I connection and right-click on the Objects element and run the Verify Connection… action. When that completes apply any missing PTFs

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [WDSCI-L] Set Service Entry Points Crashing RDI
I'm running RDI 9.6.0.11 and when I try to debug a program in RDI using set service entry point, RDI crashes and becomes unresponsive. Only way is to kill the task in task manager. Anyone has an idea why it's crashing?
