The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
iForGit takes a moderated and inclusive approach for your existing developer culture because they can still use SEU, PDM, RDI or VS Code for editing.
There's no real development changes initially.
Source members stay in source physical files, but you start capturing your changes to git either automatically or on-demand by each user.
You get the best of both worlds: git plus not disturbing the delicate programmer balance.
If you move all your source to the IFS you generally have to create custom build processes or CI/CD pipeline.
That's generally a no-go for the classic crowd.
If you just want to do a one-time export of source, grab a copy of my FREE "Work with IBM I - PDM for Windows" app:
https://github.com/richardschoen/workwithibmipdm
It can also be used in conjunction with iForgit, VS Code, Notepad++, etc.
If you want to chat more offline shoot me an email.
PS: There are many other source mgmt. products available, but generally you have to adopt their development methodology.

Richard Schoen

Does anyone have some resources on steps taken to get from traditional
source members to git?
