Greg, I've never tried the formatting in RDi with tabs in the string - there is a formatter for SQL in RDi, and there are settings for it. It's a little different from what Jack is suggesting, but not that much.

You can also put your cursor in the statement in RDi and press Ctrl-Shift-F to format it - you should probably select the statement, to format only that statement - otherwise it will change the entire source, I find.
