IM 1.9.2.0 will not work for sure. IM 1.9.2.1 may work but the last
attempts I now of with that release failed for an initial install. I know
for sure that 1.9.1.5 and 1.9.1.6 has worked with every attempt. There is
no reason to update IM after install.

FWIW: I don't know if an install will survive a macOS update. For me an
update from Catalina to BigSur broke a working IM but left RDI working.

Mike, I am running the latest RDi on Mac Big Sur.

I installed it via the earlier IM release.

I just installed the 12/2021 1.9.2.x IM an hour ago and it seems to run on
Big Sur. At least, it checked for updates (and found none).

Just A Data Point, as they say :)

I can see it on the first page.

I installed it myself, but I did that as follows:
- Start IM from within RDi
- Instruct IM to search for newer versions of IM as well
- Search found new version 1.9.2.1
- Installed that
- Restarted IM (got 1.9.2.1, so installation went alright)
- Search found no new versions

Only (rather big) problem that remains is that I can’t get iSphere
installed.

Only do a User install of IM, an Admin install will not put down a
working
install of RDI

RDI seems to run on the M1 for those that I have helped with it.

To install iSphere first add the update site
https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.6/ in Eclipse. Do
the
iSphere install (Marketplace seems to work fine) then turn off the
update
site so it does not conflict with any IM updates of the product.
