From this is appears that you no longer need to "fix" the zip file before unzipping it Jack - is that the case?

Installing RDi on the Mac is practically witchcraft at the present time.
I finally succeeded with the help of Eric Simpson of IBM in a topic on IBM
Community.
All the RDi webbage steers the user wrong on one or another point.

1. Download Installation Manager from here
<http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/swg/quickorder?parent=ibm%7ERational&product=ibm/Rational/IBM+Installation+Manager&release=All&platform=All&function=all&source=fc>
2. Unzip it and execute the userinst file
3. Open your home directory in Mac Finder and navigate to
IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse and doubleclick the IBMIM.app
4. Click Install
5. Navigate through a certain amount of BS such as logging in with your IBM
id
6. Add a repository
*https://www.ibm.com/software/repositorymanager/com.ibm.rational.developer.ibmi.v96
<https://www.ibm.com/software/repositorymanager/com.ibm.rational.developer.ibmi.v96>
*
7. Install RDi from that repo (lots of "agree to license" etc.) and ignore
one or two weird error messages.
8. In Mac Finder, in your home directory, navigate to
IBM/SoftwareDeliveryPlatform
9. Doubleclick *Developer for i.app*

Phew!
