When I start up Rational, it opens two workspaces. The names of the two
workspaces are identical.
It sounds like you are opening One workspace with Two "Windows".
You can open a new window by dragging a "view" outside of the current window, or by specifically opening a new window from "Window"-> "New Window".
Just close one of the windows, then restart RDI.
If that doesn't fix it, you should close your current "Perspective" and then reopen it.
RDI will try to restore all the windows and perspectives you had opened when you last closed the editor.
Opening a new window can be done on the menu bar using "Window"-> "New Window"
This is an Eclipse feature and it doesn't play nice with RDI when editing iSeries source.
Even though you have two windows open, the views are singular. So when you open the "Properties" view, it's shared by both windows.
This can be very annoying if you are trying to look at one of the extra views and it keeps getting changed so it relates to the data represented by where the cursor is currently located.
If you want to run two Windows of RDI, I'd suggest opening two Instances of RDI, both with their own Workspace. In windows you can open a new instance (for programs that allow it) by Shift-Clicking on the program icon.
