Ctrl-L is going to go to the "Line Number" which is the same as where you go if you key a number in the prefix area, or key a number in the action line.
It sounds like he wants to position to the sequence value found in the SRCSEQ field of the of the PF-SRC file.
Which, if you don't resequence, can be a very irritating sequence of lines:
000100
000200
000201 <not resequenced on save
000202 <not resequenced on save
000204
000300
000400
If you resequene on save then the 00201 and 000202 lines would be changed to 00300 and 00400.
