Mike,

We have no issues with 3 warehouse locations @ 125,000 sq feet each. We have a dozen lifts and 40+ wearable units. They are constantly going between access points. The network is very, very reliable.

That's why I know our TCP/IP settings are likely spot on.

Ahh, wireless, always funs ;)

Make sure that you don't go moving about and switching between access
points, the transition is seldom as faultless as advertised

Mike,

I'm not sure exactly where that is, but literally all of our devices are
wireless into our network. I'll take a look.

On my PC, if the idle timer was the issue the 5250 sessions would drop -
they are extremely touchy.

This isn't after periods of inactivity... sometimes it's right after I
start the debugger.

I would suggest making sure that the idle timer in the IBM i TCP/IP
settings is set low enough to keep your connection alive.

All the best, Mike

Since working from home over a (very fast) VPN connection, I've experienced
more and more issues when debugging. It's like RDi has lost communications
with the system:
QB5PHSRV
QB5ROUTER

I'll set the SEP, call the program from my 5250 screen, and RDi never jumps
into debug. The job on the 5250 screen just hangs (like it's been
interrupted).

If I try to remove the SEP within RDi, I get "Operation in progress" and
I'm locked up. I can end the two jobs above, and the "Operation in
progress" window disappears. But I have to restart RDi and begin again.

I have to believe that if I had any real connection issues, the 5250 green
screens would drop...

Just frustrating.
