Hi Charles,

Currently it only works for String constants. If rename works in the code, Extract Constant should also. I'd suggest contacting IBM support so we can take a peek.

Steve,

Is there something specific to "Extract Constant"?

"Refactor - Rename" works in the same code....

Hi Charles,

No the online help doesn’t get updated with each fix pack.

As for Extract Constant, Failed Initial Conditions could mean the code
wasn't able to verify (or parse) before the extract. Rename and
Extract constants are dependent upon the Model being present.

There are some videos on the RDi Hub:

Two questions...

Does the online help not get updated with the fixpacks?

I'm running 9.6.0.7, but the online help says 9.6.0.0.

The only thing in the help under refactor is the original, 'Refactor -
Rename'.

Second question related question, I was trying to do a 'Refactor -
Extract Constant' and I get an error "Failed initial conditions".

I have no idea what the initial conditions might be.

Thanks!
Charles
