I do Alt+U (Unselect) before using the Alt+R=Rectangle select. That works for me...

Anyone seen this or know what I need to do to fix this?
When I press Alt-R to select a rectangle nothing happens (that I can tell). But if I enter Alt-E,E,R I can select the rectangle.

I'm on Version: 9.6.0.7
