James,

That fixed the problem. I must have missed "Restart RDi". The key is the
radio button on the "Content" page. When I give local help priority,
then at least iSphere help works fine without all these log enries
appended to the console.

I wonder how you figured that out!

Thanks,

Thomas.

Hi Thomas. Just to double-check, did you restart RDi after disabling 'IC Server Plug-in'. Maybe disable it, restart RDi and check in that panel again after restart to confirm it's still disabled.

'IC Server Plug-in' loads a customized help preferences panel (the Remote Assistance Configuration one).

When it's not loaded, the Content one usually appears. The Content panel has some features not available in Remote Assistance Configuration (i.e. giving local help content priority vs remote help).

That when you disable remote help your content loads quicker and you no longer see the errors supports what I was thinking. That is, the help system is giving remote content priority, looks there first under whatever remote urls are enabled. If it doesn't find it, it then looks locally. But unfortunately this affects performance and dumps some errors in the log.

James,

I do not have "Content" in my 9.6.0.5 preferences.

All I have is:

"Help"
"Help -> EXEC Statements"
"Help -> Remote Assistance Configuration"

The only thing that helps to make help pages loading fast and stop all these error messages is to disable both entries in "Help -> Remote Assitance Configuration":

IBM I - https://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_73
IBM Rational Developer for I - https://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAE4W_9.6.0

By the way, what is the 'IC server Plug-in' plug-in? I could not find anything about it. Disabling this plug-in did not help.

Regards,

Thomas.

On the off chance that this may be helpful, try the following:

Go to:
Preferences > General > Startup and Shutdown Uncheck 'IC server Plug-in'

Restart RDi

Go to:
Preferences > Help > Content
Select the second radio button: 'Include remote help and give local help priority'

Click Apply.

Click OK to exit the Preferences

Restart RDi

Start using RDi again to see if that resolves any of the issues.

Hi,

Does somebody know, why RDi 9.6.0.5 throws all these exceptions, when opening the help?
