I was talking about the SP itself using the replaced object, not the debugger. If the SP is using the replaced object, you'd in effect have the SEP over the wrong object.

Thanks Phil. So here's what I'm trying...

- End all jobs for my profile except my workstation job
- start Rdi
- Add SEP (which starts jobs QBPHSRV and QB5ROUTER) on the server
- Confirmed Skip all Breakpoints button is not depressed
- Called my sp. Program did not break.

@Justin, @Dave. I think (but not positive) that since I ended my QB5* jobs before I started RDi there is no chance it would be accessing a program in QRPLOBJ.

@Ken, I also tried a new workspace but same result.

In the end I resorted to green screen debug which resolved my issue.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I'm getting a new SSD and upgrading in
Windoze10 in the near future so I'll have to reload everything. I won't worry about this until then. Hopefully the new install will correct this issue.

Thanks,

Rob

Rob,

Although I rarely have to use debug on my programs, cough, cough, I
don't have problems with the RDi debugger and SEP.

Typically, this scenario describes my process.
- Start RDi Debug.
- Add the program(s) to SEP.
- Initiate the programs.
- When I'm finished debugging, I close all program listings and remove
the program entries in the debug console. The SEP entries are unchanged.
- Modify the program and recompile.
- In RDi Debug, refresh the SEP entry. This points it to the newly
compiled program rather than the program in QRPLOBJ.
- Initiate the programs.
- Lather, rinse, repeat.

If I'm working with a service program, it's also necessary to end the
session that initiated the service program.

Other posters have slammed RDi debug. Other than not being able to
change the contents of a monitored VARCHAR field sometimes, I've found
this tool to be very stable. I use a separate workspace for debugging.

Thanks Greg. I confirmed that the breakpoint does exist and is
enabled but it still doesn't break. You are referring to the
Breakpoint being checked on the Breakpoints tab correct?

Thanks,

Rob

Thanks Dave.

This is a new sp. I confirmed the external program only exists in
my development library.
So the sp only exists in my dev library as does the external program.

Thanks,

Rob

I have ended the debug server, restarted RDi with -clean,

Is there anywhere else I can check?

Is there more than one object by the same name? I mention
it, because this is common in my shop so when this happens to me
it is
usually
a library list issue. Meaning, one object has the SEP on it but
it is
the
other object that is getting executed.
