Mike: Thanks for the info. I did have the colleague reinstall running as an administrator but that didn't clear up the issue. I am looking for evidence the issue is what you state below but due to resource constraints am unable to dig into this more at this time. I hope to resume my investigations on Friday.

I'm not well versed on certificate usage though...or for that matter where these things are actually retained...

The message "certificate chaining error" can result from Java/Eclipse not
being able to write a certificate into a certificate store located in a
protected directory (C:\Program Files\*). Try running RDI as Administrator
in order to do installs of plugins if you are working with an admin install
on Windows. Run as a user when running normally - no need to expose your
machine unnecessarily.

Sent by: "WDSCI-L" <wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I am working with another colleague who is having problems installing a
plugin required for another plugin for RDi.

There is a plugin needed from The Eclipse Project repository (
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__download.eclipse.org_eclipse_updates_4.4&d=DwICAg&c=jf_iaSHvJObTbx-siA1ZOg&r=wo0uDJijITU2f7aW2HWa1KiNWzc2cb7dgMN4W-85iwI&m=mq2wAukmKESbbNIVbPepSerJPZaZJfvfDEYIfyCw5nc&s=oCPvjeiAPu-NvjewzMZfaGlVWAOYBfuv7qwb1z7LKDg&e=
) and the specific plugin needed is the Eclipse 2.0 Style Plugin Support.
However when attempting to install the software into RDi, it gives errors.
Yet when I view it on my RDi installation, it has no issue at all. This
plugin is required so we can install our change management plugin from
Aldon (Lifecycle Manager).

I did have the same problem the previous user had, but at some point it
suddenly worked for me...nothing special done.

Error messages include: HTTP Server - Service Unavailable, and a returned
response code of 503. Also he gets an "Unable to read repository" message,
and something about a certificate chaining error. And yet I don't get
these messages and see all the plugin goodies available. His profile is
set up like mine; authorities and all.

Anyone else experience something similar?
