John,

That highlighting feature is based on the Outline view. You MUST have the outline view built and/or refreshed.

Double-click to highlight your field, then click the highlighter. Then if that if field is used in multiple lines of your code, it should be highlighted.

Here is a screen shot of the Highlight at work... I change my highlighter to PINK. :)

Notes:
o Yellow Pointers on the Left hand margin. I don't use a card-punch, so I don't show the punch-card columns. :P
o I highlight the current line is light blue, due to my tri-focals. :(

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Highlighting occurrences of an entity

<snip>
There's a toolbar button to highlight occurrences of an entity. Does anyone know if there's a setting for the COLOR of the highlighting? I can't see the yellow. I can't see anything yellow in the settings.
</snip>

I saw this subject line and it reminded me that i want to use that more so i went to try it and not it's not working.

I found the color setting Ken pointed out. . . but. . . my highlight
occurrences is still NOT working. . . wt

I've tried double-clicking on a word, then pressing button. nutin

I've tried Ctl-f searching on a word, then when the first match is presented... i press the button. nutin

I know its the correct button. . . the mouseover/hover reveals: [Toggles marking occurrences of the given entity]

I've tried it in an rpgle & clle source member. nutin

Am i doing it wrong?

v9.5.1.1 It worked before (on this version) when i first found it.

John
