When verifying my code for Modules, I love the Cntrl+Shift+V to verify. Works Great!

When verify a non-module, I also get the false error: "Keywords DftActGrp, ActGrp, or UsrPrf are not allowed.

And the verify option seems to have problems with copy-books. I guess because I don't have the copy-books download to my RDI workspace.

So, when on-line, I always use COMPILE versus Verify. It is much more accurate!

ON a compile I get no Errors. But on the verify, I get all these false errors:

RNF0273 Compiler not able to open the /COPY or /INCLUDE file; directive ignored.
RNF7030 The name or indicator RTVSYSNAME is not defined.
RNF7503 Expression contains an operand that is not defined.
RNF1324 Keywords DFTACTGRP, ACTGRP, or USRPRF are not allowed.
RNF1324 Keywords DFTACTGRP, ACTGRP, or USRPRF are not allowed.

PS. Normally, I use the compile option, and avoid "False Errors" on verify. <Hint Hint>

Still, I like the verifier, but does not handle copy-books very well... :(
Obviously, because the copy-books are not download into my work-space.

...thanks for that tip Jon, I had completely forgotten about verify, but it does just what I need!

If you just want a check you should run verify - not compile.

All of my RPG source for my current project is in the IFS but when I compile via RDi I don't always get the error messages back via the event file. If I set the compilation mode to "batch" then it works, however in interactive mode I get nothing back. Often I don't want the object to be created, I just want the source syntax checked before my build tool is run, and this also doesn't work in either batch or interactive mode [OPTION(*NOGEN)]. Is this expected behaviour?
