Maybe try the view called: "Commands Log".
Note, you will have to have your compile run inside RDI. And not submitted off as a batch job.
window>Preferences>Remotes Systems> IBM i>command Execution
UNCHECK for "Compile in Batch"
Very helpful for me to see how my service programs get built. Sometimes I get "Binding Errors". And I am able to solve those quite easily!
