Doug,
Yup, I run into that all the time on multiple releases...
But, I suggest checking this preference:
window > preferences > Run/Debug > compiled Debug > Debug Editors
"CHECKED" for "Allow hover evaluation
"CHECKED" for "Display types in hover"
Which a LONG TIME AGO, I was told this was "preview technology", so it not solid at the time. But, maybe my memory is wrong. <sorry>
Because why wouldn't you ALWAYS want this feature ON? Microsoft Visual Studio ALWAYS the HOVER values ON!!! <Hint Hint to RDI development team>
Oh well, just saying... Sorry, beating a dead-horse again... <My bad>
It is "supposed to" work on both Source/*LISTING views. But, you might have to flip to the *LIST view for it to work... Flaky...
Oh well, welcome to my "RDI Adventures"! :P
Still slightly flaking to me, lower your expectations... Eat snicker bars... <LOL>

I should probably open this with a different subject, but prior to updating from 9.6.0.3 to 9.6.0.4 when I hovered over a variable in Debug mode, I would see the content of the field. Now it's hit or miss.. there is no consistency that I can see. Some references to a field will show the field content and other references to the same field will show the field definition information. It's so annoying that I'm seriously considering removing the 9.6.0.4 update. Has anyone else seen this?

Jason,
Thanks! Who would have ever thought to uncheck an option, to get said option to work?
I think the RDI team changes around RDI from release to release to make me think I am going mad. <LOL>
OH well, glad to have it working again! I was afraid I would have to go back to RDi 9.5.1.2 again... <LOL>

Under Debug Editors, here's what I have now:
Allow hover evaluation-checked
Display types in hover-unchecked
Mouse-overs give me the current value, but not the type. I have a PMR open with IBM about my debug hanging. They think it's related to mouse-overs, so they had me uncheck "Allow hover evaluation". I did that and I got the type definitions. This was with "Display types in hover" unchecked.
Long story short, try unchecking "Display types in hover".

Hi,
When debugging with RDI 9.6.0.3, it now longer show the Attribute type.
windows>preferences>Run/Debug>compile Debug>Debug Editor --> Check-box=CHECKED for "Display types in Hover"
Is there a switch/setting to show the field attributes in Debug?
Am I missing something here? It works fine when I am not in debug mode...
PS. Yes, I can always goto the outline view, and search for the variable there. But, that is just wasteful and time consuming...
I can also add the field to the Monitor, and examine it there. And see if it character/zoned/packed, by displaying in Hex format.
