Thanks as always, Charles (and Justin!).  It turns out -clean did the trick.

It took a LOOONG time.  Much longer than I expected.  But at the end of the day, everything is working ... well, wonderfully!

Remote Systems -> IBM i -> Cache

You can put "cache" in the preference's search box...
