Okay, my PC-Laptop is possessed by GREMILINS!!!

After trying several times to go back to RDi 9.5.1.2, I got this Error:
"The RSE Communication daemon could not be started"
with the details:
"The RSE communications daemon could not be started on port4300. Check that the port is free and restart the daemon or change the port used by the daemon using the Remote Systems -> Communications Workbench preference page.".

To fix it, you restart it. And then RDI 9.5.1.2 starts to work again! And the code templates works again, after several tries. It is like it has to warm up or something?!?!?!

And then I try activating the templates in RDi 9.6.0.1, and it is working again! Yeah!

Maybe I need to reboot windows too! This is extremely perplexing. Sadly, it appears that only RDi acts up...

I am completely confounded.

I just restarted both 9.5/9.6 with -clean. Let hope that I do not run into any more problems.

I will now start every morning with the -clean option.

Hi,

Using RDi 9.6.0.1 and the templates seem to no longer work. I open up PMR# 89869,442,000.

Why oh why, do things that use to work, now stop working in a new release????

I am doing my "Beta-Tester-Duty" and have open 4 PMRs already...

Where is the IBM testing on new release? Should things that work in a previous release work in the new release? I thought this was stable. But, a new so called "RELEASE" and/or fix pack is NOT that. Certainly not with un-working functionality...

Code assist does not work in procedures? Even though the outline is built!

Hover-tips do not working, even though the outline view is built.

On split screens, the LPEX editor locks up. Unable to edit the code...

Completely random, flip a coin, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not...

The "fix" is to start RDI 9.6.0.1 every 5-minutes! Glad it increases "productivity". You have to restart it, to clear errors? Wtf?

IBM had me do a complete uninstall of everything, including the installation manager. So, this a brand new install, and nothing but one issue after another...

I was hoping that fix-pack-1 would resolve this.
