Edmund,
I also can reproduce the problem with RDi 9.5.1.1 following these steps:
1. Started RDi 9.5.1.1.
2. Pressed Crtl+Alt+Q to opened member 1 in edit mode.
3. Pressed Ctrl-F, see last search arguments (= foo), "Wrap" and "Select
found text" are checked.
4. Pressed Esc to cancel search.
5. Pressed Crtl+Alt+Q to opened member 2 in edit mode.
6. Pressed Ctrl-F, see last search arguments (= foo), "Wrap" and "Select
found text" are checked.
7. Pressed Esc to cancel search.
8. Pressed Crtl-F6 to get back to member 1.
9. Went to the first position of line 26 and pressed Shift+Down to select
the entire line.
10. Pressed Ctrl+C to copy the entire line to the clipboard. Line is still
selected.
11. Pressed Ctrl+F6 to go to member 2.
12. Pressed Ctrl-V on line 1, position 1 to insert the line that I copied
from member 1.
13. Line is inserted as first line of the source.
14. Pressed Ctrl-F. Although nothing is selected, the search argument is
populated with that line and "Restrict search to selection" is checked.
It is even easier with these steps:
1. Started RDi 9.5.1.1.
2. Pressed Crtl+Alt+Q to opened member 1 in edit mode.
3. Pressed Crtl+Alt+Q to opened member 2 in edit mode.
4. Nothing is selected in both members, now.
5. Pressed Ctrl+F6 to go to member 1.
6. Selected an entire line in member 1.
7. Pressed Ctrl+F6 to go to member 2.
8. Pressed Ctrl+F. The search argument is populated with the selection of
member 1.
9. Pressed Esc to cancel search.
10. Pressed Ctrl+F6 to go to member 1.
11. Changed selection to another entire line.
12. Pressed Ctrl+F6 to go to member 2.
13. Pressed Ctrl+F. The search argument is populated with the new selection
of member 1.
So from my point of view, the "Restrict search to selection" option is
checked when an entire line is selected in any open Lpex editor.
To prove that I did another test:
1. Pressed Crtl+Alt+Q (3 times) to open 3 members in browse mode.
2. Clicked the tab of member 1.
3. Selected entire line 10.
4. Clicked the tab of member 2. Nothing yet selected.
5. Clicked the tab of member 1. Line 10 still selected.
6. Clicked the tab of member 2.
7. Selected entire line 15 of member 2.
8. Clicked the tab of member 1. Surprise: line 10 is no longer selected!
9. Clicked the tab of member 2. Line 15 still selected.
10. Clicked the tab of member 3.
11. Selected entire line 20 of member 3.
12. Clicked the tab of member 2. Line 15 is no longer selected!
13. Clicked the tab of member 3. Line 20 still selected.
From my point of view that clearly indicates, that line selection does not
work for individual members. There is only one selection for all members.
By the way that is not only tied to line selection but also to character
selection.
It is very easy to track the selection when you arrange all 3 members side
by side. When you select something in member 1, you get a blue selection.
When you click on member 2, the blue selection of member 1 is still there.
Now select something in member 2 and the selection in member 1 vanishes.
The problem of "Restrict search to selection" is tied to a line selection!
Thomas.

Hi Greg
My team is having difficulty reproducing this scenario from the description
here. You will do us all a service, if you open a PMR so that we can have
the detailed conversation to get it fixed.

I don't buy that...
I've recreated it at will. This ONLY seems to happen when I do the
following:
1. Select a row of text CTRL-C
2. Go to a different source member, CTRL-V to paste (usually an entire row
of code)
At this point in the source member where I did the paste, NOTHING is
highlighted, selected or otherwise marked.
Now, when I press CTRL-F, the find dialog comes up with the ENTIRE LINE in
the "Find" text.... AND the "Restrict search to selection"
checked/selected.
There is NOTHING selected!!!
I guess I could buy into the copied text showing up in the "Find"... but
NOT the checkbox. That is useless to search the selection when nothing is
selected.

I'm afraid this is probably "working as designed". Quite annoying IMO.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Search Issue
I use CTRL-F quite a bit to search within a member. Many times the search
fails because the "Restrict search to selection" is (erroneously) selected.
I've narrowed it down to occasions when I've selected text in another
source member (tab) to paste or insert.
Has anyone else observed this behavior?
Is there a fix?
Greg
