I'll admit to being a bit concerned myself....

OTOH, while Edmund, Eric & Mike have been great, I don't know that they
actually do all the development work themselves right now.

I'm wondering if this is more of an on-shoring move?  Replacing some
nameless non-IBM off-shore development team?
