I'm in a simple shop (one machine, two programmers). We are upgrading a software package to a new version. I have quite a few RPG applications that will need to be modified and recompiled (or just recompiled) due to database changes in the new version.

The source members in question are located in at least a half-dozen source files and likely involve 100+ members. My test (and eventually production) environment will have a significantly different library list.

In the SEU days, I created a different user and job description (to set the library list) for myself for modifying, compiling and testing. I manually found all the members, put them in a test source member and compiled them in a test library.

With RDi, it's easier to find the source members that need changed... but I'm not sure what is the best approach to get copies of them to work on (and test) in the new "environment". I'm not real familiar with some of the tools available in RDi.

Any shared experience would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg
