But should refactoring/renaming be taking 30+ seconds to display the popup?
If it's normal then I can live with it, but on the other hand if it's taking
way longer than others then maybe I have to fix my install.

I'm not an RDi user, but if I had to guess, I would think that's
abnormally slow for the size of program you're talking about (you
mentioned 130 lines). Obviously wait for actual users to weigh in, but
to me that kind of delay really diminishes the usefulness of the
feature.
