Hi Stuart,
Just explain why the word "model" is used.
The RPG support in RDi is designed in a Model-View-Controller pattern which
is a best practice
http://www.tomdalling.com/blog/software-design/model-view-controller-explained/
So when you load ILE RPG source into the editor, we parse it into a model
in memory. This model has all of the XREF information for every symbol
defined and where these symbols are defined and much, much more. This
model is not only visualized in the outline view, but it is use to
implement hyperlink/hover/formatting/ refactoring and so on.
I hope this explanation helps.
Regards,
Edmund (E.H.)

NEVER MIND. I figured out that "model" means "outline" and the member I
was using had one of those little yellow blobs way away from where I was
working and I did not notice the outline would not build because of it.
The "b" on a P-spec was 1 character to the right of where it should have
been -- DEVASTATING!

It has been a while since I used the ctrl-shift-F RPGLE Formatter but I
did so this morning.
Not sure why, but it froze RDi (I mean the screen dimmed and I got the
blue swirly). After 12 minutes of waiting (all the way to the coffee
machine and back, plus a conversation in the hall), I just killed it by
pressing the close button so Windows would tell me it's frozen (duh) and
end it for me.
Restarted RDi. Opened the RPGLE member. Tried to use the formatter.
Now I get a message stating "Formatting failed: No model available".
Anyone know what that means, and if so, where I can get a "model"?
