Eric,

Yes, I have, and used it a lot and like it!

But, it collapses subroutines in procedures, and I cannot collapse individual sections, except by the "XX" blocks in the sequence area. Like a large if-statement, try to see the "Big Picture" once in a while.

And when I hide the Sequence number, a.k.a. (setPrefixArea off) then I cannot use the "XX" option...

It is a good start, but not complete... <grin>

I really love the Filter option by selection a lot too! Still use to using that back when the outline view did not work so well back on wdsc 6.0. Sometimes old habits die hard.

We Developers ALWAYS want more! <LOL> :) Never satisfied... <smirk>

PS. Love the Refactor!

Ken,

Have you tried 'Filter view>Control' from the editor popup menu in RDi? It will collapse if statements.

Thanks,
Eric

Mark,

Okay, I have already have NotePad++ install on my computer, so here are the basic instructions:

1. Download Notepad++ & install. Assuming you haven’t already… (I downloaded the zip/No installer)
2. Cut & Paste the xml (Link below) into file called sqlrpgle.xml (approx. 64-lines of xml) https://github.com/WorksOfBarry/Notepad-RPG/blob/master/sqlrpgle.xml
3. Menu: >Language>Define your own language….
* Click the “Import…” button
* Select the place you save your “sqlrpgle.xml”
4. Be sure to select the sqlrpgle “User Language”.

I sent the attachment before, but I didn’t know about the import button and export. <embarrassed-smile>

Open up an RPGLE/SQLRPGLE, and see how it works, I like it!

I sort of wish our beloved RDI has collapsible if-statement logic like
NotePad+++. <Big Grin> I guess that would be RFE! <Big Smile>

Ken,

Are there easy instructions for installing this? The ones I found were either too confusing or didn't work.

Charles,

See text attachment. Please note that this User-defined language need
to
be updated for new %BIF& Opcodes. I know for instance that I have not added the %ScanRpl %BIF. When I have time, I will update it.

RDI 9.5.1 is so vastly improved, that I don't use this that often.
But,
good for a quick look at code, especially SQLRPGLE code I find on the web to solve a problem that I am currently researching...

Nothing beats the power of RDI. But NotePad++ does load very fast. So,
I
occasionally still use it to look at snippets or quick formatting of snippets. Every tools has it purposes...

PS. I will try to add this plug-in after I update it to the NotePad
web-site:

http://docs.notepad-plus-plus.org/index.php?title=User_Defined_Language_Files

Won't be until later in the week...

Ken,

I think you should be able to send it as a .txt attachment.

You might try adding it to the wiki
