Strangely enough, I could upgrade from 2.8.9 to 2.9.0 without the need to run as admin. From 2.9.0 to 2.9.1, however, I got this update error.

Odd...

I agree that this problem is annoying. But honestly I have no idea why that happens for some people. I have never seen that error happening for me. I assume that the problem depends on the location where the user plug-ins are installed. On my office PC (no admin privileges for me), the plug-ins are installed into "c:\Users\traddatz\.eclipse\org.eclipse.platform_4.4.2_2106435170_win32_win32_x86_64\plugins\". That is a folder that I certainly can write to. Maybe that the user plug-ins go into "c:\Program Files\IBM\SDPShared\" for users who have that problem.

How odd, I've never seen this with any other plugins.

Dan,

That error usually happens, when you try to update a plug-in (not only iSphere) without administrator privileges. Please start your RDi with administrator privileges and try to update iSphere again.

The problem is described in the iSphere help on page "Install Plugin for RDi 8.0+": http://isphere.sourceforge.net/help/

<quote>

"Make sure that you have administrator rights if you installed RDi into c:\Program Files.
Otherwise you may encounter strange error messages such as 'No repository found containing ...' when attempting to install the iSphere plug-in."

"Some people complained about various dependency errors, which could be solved by deselecting all update sites, leaving only iSphere checked."

</quote>

You may also try to deselect all update sites leaving only iSphere checked.

See also the response of Samuel Hansen for ticket #19: https://sourceforge.net/p/isphere/tickets/19/
As well as ticket #18: https://sourceforge.net/p/isphere/tickets/18/

Both problems could be solved with administrator rights.

Regards,

Thomas.
