Or better yet got to Windows -> Preferences -> LPEX Editor -> User Key Actions.

Type "a-s-J" (Alt+Shift-J) into the Key input (or whatever you want to use)
Type "oneSpace" into the action input
Press set button.

Now its Alt+J then Alt+shift+J.

Thanks, Matt

An alternative to this workflow that I use frequently is this (alt+j not required):

Cursor to line to be joined to
End to get to end of line
SHIFT+CTRL+CMD+LEFT ARROW
SHIFT+CTRL+CMD+RIGHT ARROW
press space bar

I am on a Mac, hence the CMD key above. Another programmer here is on Windows and can accomplish the same thing using the WINDOWS key in place of the CMD keys above.

There is an RFE to allow for the elimination of the space when doing

Then I stumbled upon action oneSpace. Until we get this RFE fulfilled,
oneSpace may help those circumstances where there are many spaces to delete.

Cursor to line to be joined to.
End to get to end of line.
Alt-j to join the following line to this one.
Escape to get to the command line.
action oneSpace
--if you use this a lot, up arrow will summon it from the hstory
Enter.
Escape to get back to the editor.
