I don't usually rely on printed code unless I am collaborating with other developers, and then, only when I'm going to their desk. Some time's it's easier to have a piece of paper to draw arrows, additional test code, etc. Otherwise, I rarely print anything, especially 32000 line programs. And it works much better when I'm working with some "older schooler than me" types. And yes, another way to perform that would be through SEU. Or the way Brian pointed out earlier (through editing a copy of the compiled version). Both just a tad more tedious than just using block printing in LPEX, my preferred method. So I'm lazy.

I used to use the (I know that's not right) the bottom of the compiler listing also for cross reference, and still will for some things like when PRTR or DSPF files are involved, but that's another learning curve I'll have to work on. But, like you I don't usually print it. It's much easier to find fields using WRKSPLF and then you can find them using UPPERCASE only.

Thanks buck. You made me think.

So the question becomes two fold (if you also are missing something):

1) is it capable?

An interesting question. What are you doing with the printed portion of the code? Perhaps there's another way to perform that action.

2) if not, then is there a call for it, other than myself.

The last time I printed a program was when I needed to completely remodel it: it turned into several programs and more than a few subprocedures.

Oddly enough, the 'printed thing' I use most often is the cross reference at the bottom of the compiler listing, but I WRKSPLF to see that.
