The RDi Java Modernization Edition has wizards that will take the PCML
output from an RPG compile and generate the WSDL for a SOAP based web
service that can be deployed to WebSphere Application Server. If you find
the IWS is not scaling to meet your needs then you can upgrade to WAS. The
tooling for WAS is Rational Application Developer (RAD) but RDi Java
Modernization Edition has the vast majority of that functionality at a much
lower price point.
However it is quite likely that what you are doing is meeting your needs
nicely and you don't need to go this way. One advantage of the IWS tools
is that they support REST Web Services which RDi tooling does not yet.

[Unsecure]

Hi everyone,

Regarding Web Services on the i (for either publishing or consuming), I'm
aware of and have used IWS (publish), the IWS client for ILE (consume),
Apache calling RPG directly (for publishing), and using HTTPAPI (for
consuming). But what on earth is the install option in RDi for "IBM
Rational Developer for i Web Services Extension"? I can't seem to find
any documentation on this at all. I'm probably looking in the wrong
places.

Thanks!
Barnes
