You got me curious so I installed 9.5 tonight.
You're correct 9.5 seems to start faster. Not sure about performance once started since I don't program in RDI on a daily basis.
Emulator is pretty nice, but they should have taken a page from the TN5250 plugin created by Frank Hildebrandt. I confirmed his TN5250 plugin still works.

The one thing that got me right away with the new emulator is inability to change colors and change to a block cursor.
Multiple 5250 sessions per IBM i connection seems warranted as an upgrade also at some point.
Overall seems to be a nice improvement, however I'm sure others who use RDI daily will find more goodies.

RDi 9.5 emulator is not bad for this first pass. I seem to like the stand alone better. Maybe I am use to it... <Head held low in shame>
I don't seem to find a way to change the font or colors. Oh well, I am probably missing that...
Still like the option to be able to open an emulator inside of RDI, that is sort of cool!
I still cannot believe the little extra "zippiness" and better response than RDi 9.5 has. It could be imagined by me. I hope someone else will confirm the better performance!

Subject: RDi 9.5 Terminal/emulator
Wow! I have been able to open a 5250 terminal/emulator inside of RDI!
Some good design thought was put into this! On the view: "Terminals" it say the following:
To open a terminal, right-click the Terminal subsystem under the target. Then select 'Launch Terminal' from the context menu.
Cool, a little helpful advice is always appreciated in my book! Thanks IBM!
It seems that it is called "Host Connection Emulator", not "Launch Terminal".
I must assume only session is allowed, because I cannot open a second one... <smirk>
So far, I am delightfully impressed! <Joy Joy>
I can tell that the RDI team has put a LOT of hard work and effort into this release!
