Hi All,
I finally got around to it. Please vote for this RFE so that we can have relevant help pages for the version of our server's operating system.

I thought that might be the case. I'm thinking of raising an RFE to allow the selection of programming language and/or operating system versions in the built-in help because I have sometimes been misled into doing something my current versions can't do. I remember now, but I've been caught a couple of times and I expect other programmers might get caught too.
I also suspect that the knowledge center for the next RDi version might have v8.0 of the OS detailed, and not us lowly stragglers.
To anyone else looking for v6r1 information about their programming languages, bookmark this page:

P.S. As an aside, the links from this page:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS4QVT_8.0.0/com.ibm.etools.iseries.langref.doc/evfrilsh746.htm
all return the error "KC0024E: The topic was not found." in the latest versions of Chrome and IE. I was trying to find out what version of RPGLE the earlier version of RDi helped with.

Unfortunately not, Paul, the content assist, Program Verifier, Syntax Checker, language sensitive help, etc. always point to the latest version of the language.

Can I tweak that content setting to get the context sensitive help for v6r1 source languages?
Paul.

I believe I have this working now. You may need to close help and restart RDi.
If your RDi help preferences at:
Window > Preferences > Help > Content
have this remote location set to enabled (the default setting):
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAE4W_9.1.1
then you should now be able to see the index at:
Language reference>IBM i programming information>High-level languages>ILE
RPG>Language Reference>IBM i 7.2 - ILE RPG Reference>Index
This should work in both the help client and if accessing Knowledge Center directly with a browser.

Hi Ken.
There was an index generated for that reference but unfortunately it wasn't wired into the navigation. I've added a link to it a the bottom of the reference and it can be seen if you browse the reference from here:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAE4W_9.1.1/
A couple of notes:
- If you are viewing this information through the help system that is configured to access the above url remotely, the index file does not display correctly (at least on my system). I think there's an xml error in the file that is causing a parsing error in the help system. I'll try to fix this.
- If you typically download the help to the local help system via the local help updater, the index update is not available there yet. The index update is also not in the version of the language reference that is pre-installed with RDi 911

Missing Index
Sent by: "WDSCI-L" <wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
Hi,
I am using RDI 9.1.1, and the help on %BIF, it does not take me to %BIF help area in the manual.
I thought this was fixed, but not sure.
The only other problem that I am having, is I do not see a link for the INDEX in ILE RPG Reference.
When I download the PDF, it has the Index, but not the Built-Help. Am I missing it somewhere?
This is in reference to the >Reference>Language reference>IBM i programming
Information>High-level languages>ILE RPG>Language Reference>IBM i
Information>7.2-ILE
RPG Reference
I am perplexed why the PDF has the INDEX at the back, but the built-in-help is missing the index. Do I need to do an update or something?
Thanks.
