Thanks John, that works for me.

Now, perhaps I can talk with you about BIFs in fixed-format RPGLE and SQL statements in SQLRPGLE? If you press F1 on a fixed-format BIF (e.g. %EOF), you are taken to the op-code instead (i.e. DoW or Eval, etc.), and if you press F1 on an EXEC SQL statement (anywhere) in /FREE it takes you to the default Free Form statements page. I'd like the BIFs and the SQL Statements to pull up the right help page. Is it possible? (Just to clarify, help on BIFs in /FREE works fine. Thank you.)

-Paul.

Hi,

Co-Worker has RDI 9.0.1 loaded, and presses F1 on the opcode opens help & the content pane opens up the proper path in the Content pane. But sadly no index...

I have the latest/greatest RDi 9.1.1.1, and I NOW have the Index. But, it does not open the content path like the previous working release RDi 9.0.1

I click F1 on the Op-code: "EndIF", and it opens the help for "ENDyy" (End a structured group). That part is good!

In the Content pane on the left it opens this path:
Rational Developer for I 9.1.1>Overview>Welcome
<perplexed-look>

Sadly, what once worked in previous release is now BROKEN in the latest greatest release.

I have opened a PMR# 10557,442 on this broken Content Help Pane issue.
Hopefully, this will get resolved.

PS. I verified that I have the correct help-path stated below by James

Window > Preferences > Help > Content

have this remote location set to enabled (the default setting):
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAE4W_9.1.1

It was already set correctly!

I believe I have this working now. You may need to close help and restart RDi.

If your RDi help preferences at:
Window > Preferences > Help > Content

have this remote location set to enabled (the default setting):
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAE4W_9.1.1

then you should now be able to see the index at:
Language reference>IBM i programming information>High-level languages>ILE
RPG>Language Reference>IBM i 7.2 - ILE RPG Reference>Index

This should work in both the help client and if accessing Knowledge Center directly with a browser.

Hi Ken.

There was an index generated for that reference but unfortunately it wasn't wired into the navigation. I've added a link to it a the bottom of the reference and it can be seen if you browse the reference from here:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAE4W_9.1.1/

A couple of notes:
- If you are viewing this information through the help system that is configured to access the above url remotely, the index file does not display correctly (at least on my system). I think there's an xml error in the file that is causing a parsing error in the help system. I'll try to fix this.
- If you typically download the help to the local help system via the local help updater, the index update is not available there yet. The index update is also not in the version of the language reference that is pre-installed with RDi 911

Hi,

I am using RDI 9.1.1, and the help on %BIF, it does not take me to %BIF help area in the manual.
I thought this was fixed, but not sure.

The only other problem that I am having, is I do not see a link for the INDEX in ILE RPG Reference.

When I download the PDF, it has the Index, but not the Built-Help. Am I missing it somewhere?

This is in reference to the >Reference>Language reference>IBM i programming
Information>High-level languages>ILE RPG>Language Reference>IBM i
Information>7.2-ILE
RPG Reference

I am perplexed why the PDF has the INDEX at the back, but the built-in-help is missing the index. Do I need to do an update or something?

Thanks.
