Off-topic: it would be nice to have GOTO/TAG free'd from the shackles of a

very small.

I think the job is not as small as you think it is. You're asking for
a change to the RPG language, and not just the addition of a new BIF,
but new syntax. The idea isn't a complicated one, but without having
studied the source code for the compiler, I wouldn't assume it's easy
to "just throw in there".

I also think the value might be smaller than you think it is. I mean,
I understand that *you* find value in it, and I guess there may be
other people who would like it too; but this could well be the first
time I've ever heard anyone bring up the idea. I'm actually not even
clear what it is you want: To be able to put GOTO/TAG inside
free-form code, or to have the 'C' optional in column-oriented
GOTO/TAG (as it is for comments and blank lines). Neither one strikes
me as an improvement to the language.
