The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Are open source developers trustworthy? Well, they're willing to subject
their code to the prying eyes of anyone who'll care to look--perhaps
thousands of people. I'll keep this in mind next time I want to propose
using open source.
It is worth keeping that in mind, but also keep in mind that the fact
they're willing to subject their code to scrutiny doesn't in itself
make them or their code any good. It just means they've opened up the
opportunity for others to see for themselves.
Like anything else, what builds confidence is evidence. The more
people use something with success, the more credibility that thing
accrues. It's like the ratings on Amazon. If something only has a
handful of ratings, even if they are all 5 stars, it's not very
confidence-inspiring. Most organizations would feel more comfortable
going with something that has amassed hundreds of ratings, even if the
average is only in the 3.7 neighborhood.
So, there is a kind of "public vetting" process for everything out
there. That includes commercial products as well as open source.
