Not a dope at all.  

I've been a lurker on this list for quite a while but am now excited to be using RDi and have a chance to participate and learn.

set excludedClasses COMMENTS worked great in CL & RPG400.   That will make my life soooooo much easier.

Sorry, I'm a dope.

When editing text in RDi, you're in the Edit pane. Underneath that is a
command line. To get to the command line, press Escape. Type your
command (like 'set excludedClasses COMMENTS' or 'query classes') and
press Enter. To see all the commands and actions available to you, type
'?' without the quotes and press Enter. Press Escape to go back to the
edit pane.
