Good point - and there are "system names" for schemas and tables, as well and as I'm sure you know, Michael.

In any case, the properties of a connection in either the Data (Development?) perspective and Data Studio let you filter on at least schema and table - I haven't looked recently, so I don't remember if only SQL names are shown - those would be the same as the system name for legacy objects, could be meaningless for DDL-based objects, unless one has been careful to give a "meaningful" system name to those.

Slightly random thoughts while waiting for some data to build up.

I think we're adding to poor Ken's frustration here. When he says "System
Name", he's using SQL terminology. He's referring to the 10-character
field name used by native (and/or SQL) to refer to a field--NOT to the
name of the system to which he's connected.

(Jon, I'm replying to your post, but we've all been off on Ken's issue.)

Right click on the connection and select Properties.

From the list you can select Schema and Table filters. By default
they are turned off but deselecting the check box allows you to
specify filter strings.

Still will probably not give you what you want but …

I _think_ there are some JDBC connection string properties that can
be set to change the behaviours but right now I can’t for the life
of me find them. Probably on the JT400 site I expect but haven’t got
time to hunt.
