Yeah, if it were me, I'd be looking at getting a "competitive migration"
price from ARCAD, Fresge, or ASC-Helpsystems.

All of which support RDi and IMO are much more powerful.

Matt,

I have complained to Hawkeye, that they don't have a plug-in for RDI.

They basically say there isn't a big demand for that...

Which is understandable, since we have a PAID LICENSE for RDI, and over 1/2
the RPG developers won't even try RDI... <Sad Face>

But, tell Hawkeye, that a RDI Plug-in is a needed feature.

I have talk to Renee G. at Hawkeye Customer support. I mentioned that
Softlanding/Turnover has Plug-in support for WDSC/RDI for over
approximately 10-years.

Please let Hawkeye customer support know that would be an important feature
to have! Especially to keep Hawkeye relevant in the future...

On the plus side, Hawkeye is now doing more reference support for SQL
Statements! Very cool! They need to have an RDI Plug-in! <grin>

Since we have SoftLanding/Turnover, I typically use their built in cross
reference tool in their package. Sadly, it does not field level reference.
Oh well, that is why I often use the IBM Search Source files. It seems to
get faster every release.

PS. If you are a Hawkeye Customer, please let them know an RDI Plug-in is
very much needed! <Big Grin> Maybe if more customers voice this, they might
"Eventually" do it... <LOL> I will NOT HOLD my BREATH... <smirk>

Matt,

of course we could do this but I think this is really the job of Hawkeye.
Hawkeye is a commercial product and I assume you also have to pay a
maintenance fee every year. They should spend some money to provide a RDi
interface for Pathfinder. I can understand you being frustrated due to no
RDi support of Pathfinder and searching for a solution to make this work
but as I said. This the job of Hawkeye.

Sorry.

Frank

Betreff: [WDSCI-L] iSphere Enhancement

Frank,
Since I do not have an account with source forge, I will
submit my request via midrange.com.

We use Hawkeye Pathfinder and they currently do not have
an
interface into RDI of any means. The best I have been able to produce is a
user option that is only allowed on the standard RSE objects/member filters
(I use Aldon LM(i) filters for the majority of my work). The HAWKEYE
product allows for *OUTFILEing many different types of cross references.

What I am asking for is if there a way to have a special
search that executes a command that I make up and when run I end up
formatting its results in a format compatible with the iSphere search
results and then iSphere will display my results in search result view. It
would be up to me to format the results properly but your code would build
the result table, execute my command, wait for my command to finish and
then your tool reads
my results. I would like this option for the command to be as variable as
you have the search string today in case I want to run a different command
from HAWKEYE.

Thanks, Matt
