Has anyone opened a PMR on this 11 tab behaviour?

Matt,
I sort of like the incremental find dialog", where it starts to find as I type...
It still doesn't work for me, even when I turn that option off.
(un-checked) and blank out the previous Find Text/Replace Text.
Open up NotePad, and hit Ctrl+H for Replace.
Type in "Find what", and hit tab. It immediately jumps to the "Replace with"...
Same thing with other editors...
* Microsoft Word
* Microsoft Excel
* Notepad++
* Eclipse (Open a text file and see)
* Visual Studio
* SEU (Yup, even this first position on the "FIND", then hit tab to position to the "CHANGE"
* Name your other commonly used editor(s)...
Just saying it works that way on every OTHER Editor on the Planet...
Just very strange to me, that LPEX does NOT work like EVERY OTHER Editor on the planet...
Just saying... Stating the obvious once again... <frown>
Now it has me go through 11-tabs, to get to the replacement field?
Really?!?!?! WTF?!?!?
Or use Alt+P, instead of Tab? Why???
PS. Yes, I know can change the keys for my preference in LPEX, but I cannot change the tab order. This doesn't seem like Rocket Science to me. When you are doing a Find/Replace. What are the two values you are going to always use? Do I really need to go through 7 options at the bottom of the Find/Replace Screen?!?!?!
I use many different editors, and only LPEX goes against the flow...
<Perplex look>
Regardless, this is really annoying... It was bad enough I had to hit tab 4-times with RDi 9.0.1. But, now I have to hit tab 11-tabs to get to the replaces field??? Not very user friendly at all! Especially compared to every other editor on the Planet!
<sigh>

Turn off "Incremental find dialog" and the tab works as before. LPEX will not begin to "find" until you ask it to now but at least the tab keys work.
By the way should the tab key take you out of the find box?
Thanks, Matt

Kurt,
Didn't work for me....
Strange, it worked on RDi 9.0.1, and then got "broke" on RDI 9.1 <frown>
Just glad that is PMR is already open on this, if I understand correctly.
No matter how much I try to escape mouse usage, I am constantly forced back to it...

Hi Ken,
I supplied my workspace to IBM and they were able to reproduce the issue.
I was offered a work-around, but it doesn't seem to work that well for me.
Maybe it will for you:
"If you navigate in the Preferences to the panel
LPEX Editor > Find Text
an there clear out the saved Find and Replace field values then go and open a source member (i.e., new edit session) you will find that the tabbing order is correct and stays correct for the duration of that session. But as soon as you do a replace then the next edit session will have the saved replace value and you will have the problem back.

Hi Ken,
I have a PMR opened about this. But thanks for reminding me, because they weren't able to reproduce this issue and I need to respond to the request...
A brand new workspace works ok. After converting my very basic template
9.0.1 workspace, it does not work ok. If I have to redo my workspace...
let me tell you, there's nothing I hate more. Ok, I'm sure there is, but there's a reason why I keep a saved version of it around - it contains all of my tweaks, and there are a lot of them.

Hi,
I have installed RDi 9.1, and I didn't think it was possible, but the Find/Replace has become even more annoying...
On RDi 9.0.1, you highlight a field, and press Ctrl+F to bring up the Find/Change dialog at the bottom of the LPEX Editor. Hint TAB a few times, and you get to the change field...
At least it tabbed in ORDER! <grin>
Now with RDi 9.1, it tabs you through the Change options at the BOTTOM,
First?!:
* Case Sensitive
* Whole World
* Regular Expression
* Wrap
* Select Found text
* Restrict search to selection
* Restrict search to columns
Now, I have to hit the TAB key 11-times to get the REPLACE Field?!
It does even tab in the order of the fields on the screen?
I do use some of those options, but very rarely. Once again, I am forced to use my mouse, because the Find/Replace does not work like every other Programmer Editor on the planet.
I guess those who love keyboard shortcuts, and now have to remember a new keyboard shortcut: Alt+P to jump to the "Replace Field"...
<Big Frown>
Is there a place to correct this Tab-Order?!?!?!
And Ctrl + F now longer auto populates the "Find" field with the selected field like it did in RDi 9.0.1. Once again just about every other Programmer editor on the planet does that by default. Heck, even MS Word does that! Heck, Eclipse does that!
PS. It still does not high-light the entire FIND/REPLACE field like every other Editor on the planet. This has driven me crazy since day one.
Normally the Find/Replace field is highlight to allow complete change. So you can merely type and replace...
Oh well, I have learn to hit Ctrl + End to high the fields manually myself.
Or hit Backspace multiple times...
<Rant Rant>
