Great instructions Jim!
Jon, you probably have IM installed already so if you just make sure you
have File->Preferences->Updates->"Search for Installation Manager Updates"
checked.
Then you can skip step 1 and just put the
https://www.ibm.com/software/repositorymanager/com.ibm.rational.developer.ibmi.v91
URL in the repositories list and install.

Jon,

I did not find 9.1 in PPA. I have my install via ESS. The only trial
version I could find as download was 9.0.

Here is how I got 9.1 installed and licensed:

1) Installed IBM Installation manager V 1.7.2 on my PC. From Eric or
Edmund:

IBM Installation Manager 1.7.2 is also a free download at
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24036814

2) After 1.7.2 is installed I used the web install instructions here:

In the mean time, I have updated the instructions for a RDi web install
to
include 9.1: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21667734

3) Once installed I started RDi 9.1 using a copy of my 9.0 workspace.

4) Then I went to the IBM Licensing key center and after logging in,
downloaded the activation key from:

https://www-01.ibm.com/software/rational/support/licensing/

I hope this helps!

Do you happen to have the link you used for PPA handy JIm? I cannot find
9.1 in PPA when I sign in.

The other way to get it is to use the web install, also posted by Eric
or
Edumnd, and apply the key when you get it and/or it becomes available.
I
used this option yesterday, and it worked well, as I did not have PPA
access to RDi 9.1.

It is on PPA - look at the posts here for the last week or so, you'll
get
all the info you need.

Look especially at posts from Eric Simpson or Edmund Reinhardt
