Additionally, I checked something and the issue goes away if I prefix all but 1 occurrence of the format.

Indeed, this field occurs in 2 files sharing the same record format, and the same format is also used as an EXTNAME datastructure.
It looks like we may be on to something here...

Hi Peter,
I've not noticed that before, but I have just seen it. In my case the fields defined with the like clause are doubled in size, and only for the DB fields that are defined on two logicals over the same file.
Is your clside19 field defined twice or three times on different F-spec lines?
