Hi Ken,
In Windows 7 using Windows Explorer when I look under C:\Users\ my user
directory is the one with the little lock icon over the folder. The user
short name for me is not the same as what Windows displays for me in other
places. I will admit that the directory used does not even get shown in
the .log file unless there is an error.
I seem to recall that due to some bug in Java it may get created in
C:\Users\ directly if your user directory is configured to be on a network
drive by some enterprise config setting. Or if you are starting RDI as
admin then it could be under the machine's Admin id?

I'm not seeing the .eclipse folder, even with the option to display hidden
files/folders turned on...

For anyone still concerned ...
I have a work-around for this issue.
Warning: If you have added infocenters to your help preferences other
than the ones that are automatically added then you will have to add them
again after following this work-around for this issue in RDI 9.0.1.
Prep: close any running instances of RDI 9
First Step: Rename the directory
C:\Users\<your-userid>\.eclipse\org.eclipse.platform_4.2.0_2139427097\configuration\com.ibm.ut.help.common\
to
C:\Users\<your-userid>\.eclipse\org.eclipse.platform_4.2.0_2139427097\configuration\com.ibm.ut.help.common-original
Second Step: Rename the directory
<workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\org.eclipse.help.base.prefs
to
<workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\org.eclipse.help.base.prefs-original
(or just create a new workspace)
Complete: restart RDI 9.0.1 and again enjoy your F1 help goodness!
If any of the above is unclear or if it does not resolve the RDI 9.0.1 F1
help issue for you please let us know.
All the best, Mike

We are trying to fix this problem that was recently reported by 2 people
so far on this list.
We are wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Has anyone
experienced this on previous releases?
BTW, a cool thing in 9.0.1 is that F1 on opcodes in free form, now gives
you specific help for that op code.
Yes Jon, I was thinking of you when we fixed that. :-) Merry Christmas to
you.
More goodness to come in that area.
