I think you should try to uninstall this version, then install the current
version.
You can download the current version at:
http://www.softlanding.com/support-and-resources/downloads/

Be sure to click the 'download RDP/RDi 7.5+ plug-in'

Uninstall:
Close RDi.
Delete the com.softlanding.rse.extensions.link file from your \SDP\dropins
folder.
Restart RDi with -clean (while signed on as administrator and running as
administrator)
Verify it is no longer recognized by going to Help -> about -> installation
details.

Once no longer recognized, close RDi
Run the downloaded executable: rse_extensions_75_5.exe.
Be sure to be signed on as administrator AND 'run as administrator'
When prompted for RDi/RDP location, be sure to select the RDi location
you're trying to install into.
Restart RDi with -clean (while signed on as administrator and running as
administrator)

Mark,
With the RSE plugins you're on the right track.
You need to have com.softlanding.rse.extensions.link in the dropins folder.
The dropins folder is located in the same folder as the eclipse.exe
executable (usually the SDP folder).

If you created one called links just move the .link file to the dropins
folder. (and delete the links folder if that's all that was in there).
Then restart with -clean
Then go to Help -> About and click on Installation Details.
Do you see "SoftLanding Extensions to RSE" listed? If so, what version?
If not, go to the install location. Usually: C:\Program Files
(x86)\Softlanding\RSE Extensions
Then look in \eclipse\features. What is the full name of the folder
within that? (ex: com.softlanding.....)

Hi Doug,

I have searched for com.softlanding.rse in the RDi9 install SDP
directory and it does not find anything (which I assume is my
problem). When I do the same for the RDP8.5 install SDP directory I
find it in a directory called links.

In finding this, I thought I'd try to be clever and copy the links
directory from RDP8.5 to RDi9 SDP directory but after restarting I
still couldn't find the RSE extensions stuff (i.e. messages or spooled
files).

RDP8.5 was installed in C:\IBM\SDP where as RDi9 was installed in
C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP.

I have already been in touch with softlanding regarding my turnover
plugins and they told me to put the link files for their plugin into a
directory called dropins, which worked for them. I have just tried
doing the same for the RSE extensions link file but again it didn't
seem to make any difference.

As for the iSphere plugins, I couldn't check the RDP install I still
have because I didn't install iSphere until RDP9.

Ken, I looked for the preferences and found the turnover ones (as I
have fixed this plugin) but nothing for the RSE extensions.

So, in summary, I am no further forward but have been informed by my
manager that I'm getting a new PC in the new year so all this may
become a none issue if I have to install it all on a new PC!!!

Best regards & Merry Xmas to you all,

For the RSE Extensions....
Do a search in the location where your RDi 9.0.1 is installed for:
'com.softlanding.rse'.
Do you find 'com.softlanding.rse.extensions.link'? what folder is it in?
Do you find anything else that begins with 'com.softlanding.rse'?

Examine the contents of the .link file with notepad. You should see
one line with the location of the plugins. Verify that the path does
indeed exist and is populated with an eclipse folder, and a features
and plugins folders within that. What is the full name of the folder
within that features folder?

Can you try a restart with the -clean options?

(If on Windows 7, be sure to be signed on as an administrator _AND_
right click to 'run as administrator')

Hi,

I have just updated my RDi 9 to 9.0.1 but have an issue.

A lot of my plugins seem to have disappeared but on trying to
install them again it says they are already installed.

The plugins I have immediately noticed are missing are iSphere,
TN5250J and the RSE extensions from Turnover.

It looks like the links between the plugins and RDi have disappeared.

Did anyone else have any issues with this? Anyone got any idea how
to get them back?
