I can't comment on 9.0.1, but in prior versions if you split a line the part to the right moved to the left column on the newly inserted line. If you use column sensitive editing you could not insert leading blanks to move the data in the new line to where you wanted it.

So, this change looks like a better approach, though eventually with everything free form it may not be all that significant.

Any change on join?

I can see where this could be helpful when setting up a D-spec and needing to make a multi-line (possibly b/c you duped a D-spec and the new one will have a name that is too big to keep the definition on one line).

It's taking a bit to get used to in free-form (C-specs). Although the previous behavior of splitting a line and the right-split value going to column 1 wasn't exactly the most helpful either. Is it just apples to apples - from one random position to another random position that will more than likely not be where I want it?

Just curious what people's thoughts on this was.
