I'll give it a go for a while. It's bothersome because it's new (heh), but I do see a potential benefit in some scenarios, and what I was used to really provided no benefit (beyond the split) that I can think of.

Thanks for the feedback,
Kurt

I think this is just a different key action, maybe chosen differently now. The old behavior is still there, if you wanted it. I think I actually made a conscious change to this new behavior.

Has anyone noticed that after upgrading to 9.0.1 that alt-s to split a line now "respects" the position that the split value resides in (so if you split at column 50, the new line starts at line 50 with whatever was split off from the original line.

I can see where this could be helpful when setting up a D-spec and needing to make a multi-line (possibly b/c you duped a D-spec and the new one will have a name that is too big to keep the definition on one line).

It's taking a bit to get used to in free-form (C-specs). Although the previous behavior of splitting a line and the right-split value going to column 1 wasn't exactly the most helpful either. Is it just apples to apples - from one random position to another random position that will more than likely not be where I want it?

Just curious what people's thoughts on this was.
